About Us

About the Prospect House

Our property was built in 1902 by Dr. Albert Kreitzer and 101 S. Lansing Avenue is included in the Historic Walking Map of Sturgeon Bay. The Late Queen Anne style home is located on Sturgeon Bay’s West Waterfront and within the “Walkable Sturgeon Bay” district of the City.

The Prospect House is situated one block from the downtown business district and a short walk to both the Michigan Street & Oregon Street bridges.

Why Prospect House?

We’re family owned. Nick, Cameryn and little Lucy live on site. Nick is a full-time Innkeeper working constantly to improve the guest experience at The Prospect House. Cameryn works in tourism for Destination Sturgeon Bay. Lucy (coming up on three years old) “assists” in cleaning rooms and keeps an eye on the family’s two Dachshunds - Layla & Zoey.

We’re not contactless. When you reserve a room with us, you will meet someone at your check-in. That will likely be Nick, but on special occasions - Cameryn or Lucy will be there. We will meet you on property, greet you, and personally escort you to your room. You will receive a tour and you will personally be able to see the passion we have for Door County and our residence.

Have questions? Need recommendations? Ask away, that’s what we are here for.

We were born and raised in Door County. Both of our families go back multiple generations in the county. Nick originally grew up in Baileys Harbor and Cameryn’s childhood home is just a few blocks away from The Prospect House.

Built in 1902, the historic house has a lot of character. We’ve put a lot of TLC into the property to preserve the historic charm of the property - while also offering modern amenities. We have ripped out old carpets, installed new carpets, refinished wood floors, and completely re-furnished each room with comfortable bedding and new furniture. We are currently adding a sixth room, have torn down an old deck to accommodate more convenient guest parking, created a book direct website, continue to establish our branding, and truly the list will never end — but good thing Nick loves to continuously tackle new projects.

Stay with us. Grow with us. We look forward to meeting you & sharing The Prospect House with you.
